| Functional description | To verify our array results, we performed qRT-PCR assays on the top 14 most upregulated and all six downregulated miRNAs in total retinas of diabetic rats compared with controls. All 14 of the most upregulated miRNAs were confirmed to be increased in diabetic rats, whereas three of the downregulated miRNAs were confirmed to be decreased in the diabetic retina. |
